In preparing for an upcoming craft fair, I have been practicing my book-making and pen and ink techniques. Here is a set of cards I made with ink pens; and a book using a chain stitch binding.
A baby card I did for a family friend. I have always liked the simplicity of Classic Pooh characters and their color palettes. Therefore, I did a rendition of them for a baby shower card.
Since my class on book making, I have been doing some experimenting on my own. These are mostly created with different papers and binding techniques, but a few have my artwork on them too.
Some samples of what I've been working on in my latest class. We are making books in a variety of bindings and applications. This example is my altered book. I took the story of Little Red Riding Hood and altered the story a bit. It is an accordian fold book with the well-known version on the front side of the pages and the wolf's version running parellel on the opposite side. Both versions finish with an explosion of fur and red fabric.
